‘What restaurant would you recommend that serves authentic Chinese Cuisine?’ I asked my Chinese co-worker once. To my surprise he answered none, ‘I don’t even know what’s authentic anymore’. This statement proved to be a dilemma, as a Filipino and without any point of reference how will I know what is really authentic and which is not?
It could be that my friend though Chinese already spent most of his years in the Philippines and that he no longer has that reference to the taste of real Chinese Cuisine. As for me I am still searching for that palate, a quest to taste if not authentic, at least to have the closest one without leaving the Philippines. My journey took me China Town and various restaurants around the Metro but to no avail. It might be that I did not research well enough nonetheless; my gut feel makes me feel that I didn’t find it yet. Until I encountered Paradise Dynasty a few weeks ago and immediately I think I found a place that I am looking for such a long time. Call it love at first sight or taste rather. Paradise Dynasty becomes one of my favorites instantly.
The atmosphere is inviting, accommodating, and refreshing. The place is designed with class and sophistication. The dining area is full of guests and happy stories being shared from every corner. While the place is maximized to its capacity the tables are properly spaced as to not give discomfort from busy conversations from the other table. The marble table transforms to a canvass for the colorful dishes as it comes. The seats are comfortable and will definitely support you on having a hearty dining experience. Private Room is also available for 10,000 Pesos which is consumable.
I visited Paradise Dynasty in SM Aura Premier and I must say the staffs are well trained. On two different occasions I was treated with an excellent customer service that is worthy of commendation. To start with, is with the Rachelle, the receptionist who assisted me on choosing what should I eat, she gave several suggestions to my satisfaction. She then guided me to my seat and all the staffs greeted with such enthusiasm.
Crystal and Maron were the ones who served me on my visits. Both of them are knowledgeable, and handled all my concerns and answered my questions professionally. They showed the sense of initiative but not on an invasive manner to always check whether I need more beverages, take away the finished plates and so forth. Being on a Customer Service industry I know for a fact that they demonstrated a good customer care that it even exceeded my expectations.
The food are tasty, the flavors bursts in your mouth at every bite. The presentation is so elegant and the colors are really vibrant. I enjoyed all the food that was served with such delight. Paradise Dynasty’s Xiao Long Bao is a must try! I was able to taste the Original and Crab Roe on my first visit but I tried them all on my second. I finally understood why they have a recommended sequence on how to eat it. Starting with the Original flavor which is mild and finishing with the strong flavored Szechuan Xiao Long Bao. Among the 8 flavors my favorites are the Original, Black Truffle, Crab Roe and Szechuan.
From the appetizers, dimsums and Szechuan Cuisines they are all wonderful to the taste. I love the way the spices elevated the meaty texture on a very balanced and delicate way. One of the concerns I had with Chinese Restaurants is that the flavors tend to be overpowering that it is no longer harmonious to the palate. Many times it is too oily, and does leave a pronounced aftertaste but this is not the case with Paradise Dynasty. I was really happy with all the food that I was able to try. In that essence, Paradise Dynasty becomes one of my favorites and I will definitely be coming for more.
Value for Money
The price is quite high for lower middle class income earners. At least 1500-2000 Pesos will be the price range for a table for two. For those who are on a tight budget maybe dining here will be reserved for probably a date or a special occasion. The question though is, is it worth it? My answer is a resounding yes! For its class, 1500-2000 Pesos is reasonable amount to spend. The price can be easily justified simply by excellent food with a good serving, professional customer service and an ambiance that

5 out of 5 Stars
As I mentioned a while ago, I don’t have a clear point of reference whether it is authentic Chinese Cuisine. My quest is not yet over and perhaps it will only be achieved once I find myself in China in due time. For now I decided to let Paradise Dynasty be the standard for my preference whenever I eat at any Chinese Restaurant. The whole dining experience is wonderful and definitely worth going back at any given chance. Paradise Dynasty clearly proved that they can deliver the expectation and worthy of all the awards that they continually receive. After this experience I think there are times that what we are looking for is already in front of us. Perhaps the “real” Chinese Cuisine that I am looking for the one that I had in Paradise Dynasty. My heart tells me that it is, and honestly, my mind succumbs to that motion.
